SEEDs of Wellness
SEEDS of Wellness
In 2022, The Straits Times reported that the number of suicides in Singapore had risen by 25.9%, a total of 476 suicides, increased from the 378 suicides reported in 2021. The report added that the suicide cases spread across most age groups but were more prevalent amongst the youth and elderly.
In response to the pressing concern of mental health issues in our community, we had initiated the SEEDS of Wellness programme to complement the nationwide efforts in raising awareness and destigmatising mental health issues.
South East Emotional and Empowerment Development Support comprises of three key components:
a. Community Mental Wellness Grant
-
We welcome community partners to customise mental wellness-related programmes to their specific needs. We encourage our partners to identify the needs within your community and propose engaging activities based on well-researched evidence for your organisations.
Capped at $10,000 per project per application.
b. Musical and Skit
-
The musical and skit are curated to raise awareness and promote a deeper understanding of mental well-being issues through relatable characters who overcome adversity. Additionally, they aim to alleviate feelings of loneliness often associated with mental well-being challenges.
-
We invite you to join us for the community skit focusing on youths' mental health challenges, followed by a post dialogue.
Residents of South East District can also watch the community skit version of this show at the following locations:
