Maybank South East Money Savvy Programme
Maybank-South East Money Savvy Programme
Maybank-South East Money Savvy Programme, a programme by South East CDC and funded by Maybank, aims to equip youths from vulnerable backgrounds with essential financial literacy skills and emphasise the importance of saving. Supported by ITE College East and the Institute for Financial Literacy (backed by MoneySense and Singapore Polytechnic Enterprise), this 12-month programme addresses community needs in financial empowerment, livelihood, and employability.
Key objectives of the programme include:
-
Encourage regular saving habits
-
Teach financial planning for life milestones
-
Prepare participants for future job opportunities
Complementing existing financial literacy modules at ITEs, the programme covers topics such as smart financial management, scams, debts, investments, and national schemes. It aims to benefit up to 100 participants, providing opportunities for both youths and their parents to develop effective money management skills. Participants also receive 1-to-1 matched savings to foster a regular saving habit.
We have successfully concluded cohort 6 of this impactful programme, which continues to build on the success of previous cohorts.
